Detailed 6N/7D day-wise itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Rishikesh
Meet your local trip team and check into the pre-trek hotel. Confirm current park opening, weather forecast, permits, trekking shoes and medical needs. A gentle riverside walk is optional if you arrive early. Overnight Rishikesh.
Day 2: Rishikesh to Joshimath / Govindghat
Leave early for a long mountain-road journey towards the access town. Halt for meals at safe points and reconfirm the road ahead because landslides and weather can cause detours. Settle into the agreed hotel and prepare a lighter overnight trekking bag. Overnight near Joshimath/Govindghat.
Day 3: Govindghat / Pulna to Ghangaria
Transfer to the approved trailhead and follow the official walking route to Ghangaria with rest and water breaks. Trek logistics, porter/pony options and daily access permissions are organised separately when requested. Check into the basic Ghangaria guesthouse and acclimatise. Overnight Ghangaria.
Day 4: Valley of Flowers nature trek
After breakfast enter the park only if the official gate and relevant tickets/permits are available. Walk the designated Valley of Flowers path, with local guide support where included and strict respect for protected habitat. Flowering depends on the season and rainfall; no specific bloom or wildlife sighting is guaranteed. Return to Ghangaria for the night.
Day 5: Hemkund Sahib pilgrimage trek
Make an early start for the steep, high-altitude ascent towards Hemkund Sahib if fit and local authorities permit passage. This is substantially more demanding than a village walk and may be unsuitable for travellers with altitude-related risks. Follow the route steward instructions and descend the same day. Overnight Ghangaria.
Day 6: Ghangaria descent – Joshimath
Walk back towards the approved exit trailhead at a steady pace. Rejoin the surface vehicle using the current local access arrangements and return to your hotel near Joshimath/Govindghat. Spend the evening resting and preparing for the long return drive. Overnight Joshimath area.
Day 7: Return to Rishikesh / Haridwar
Depart early for Rishikesh or Haridwar with meal breaks and allowances for hill-road delays. Do not book tight same-day air or rail connections after this drive. Final drop at the contracted point; an extra road buffer night is advisable if your schedule allows. Tour ends.
