Char dham yatra package: compare durations and routes
Select the duration that fits your travel dates. Road and trekking stages are not interchangeable without checking local conditions; a shorter trip can mean significantly longer daily transfers.
| Duration | Trip approach | Hotel level | Booking status |
|---|---|---|---|
| 9N/10D | Compact pilgrimage for physically fit travellers; longer road and trek days | Budget / Standard | Limited buffer; quote only after route assessment |
| 10N/11D | Balanced classic circuit; Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath & Badrinath | Budget / Deluxe / Premium | Core route presented below |
| 11N/12D | Rest day or extra Kedarnath weather buffer | Deluxe / Premium | Recommended if flexibility matters |
| 12N/13D | Senior-paced road circuit with optional extra nights | Premium | Needs individual mobility and medical assessment |

Detailed 10N/11D day-wise itinerary
Day 1: Haridwar pick-up – drive to Barkot
Meet the Tourwala-arranged driver at the confirmed railway station or pickup point. Drive through the foothills towards Barkot with meal breaks; actual travel time depends on traffic and hill conditions. Check in and organise early departure logistics for Yamunotri. Overnight at Barkot.
Day 2: Yamunotri darshan – return Barkot
Travel to the authorised trail access point around Janki Chatti when road/route permissions allow. Reach the shrine by the permitted trekking route or independently booked local assistance, taking adequate rest and hydration. Darshan is subject to shrine opening, weather and crowd control. Return to Barkot for the night.
Day 3: Barkot to Uttarkashi
After breakfast drive towards Uttarkashi. Stop at safe viewpoints or a permitted local temple visit if time allows; avoid promising multiple detours on a long hill-road day. Check into the reserved hotel and review next-day Gangotri departure details. Overnight Uttarkashi.
Day 4: Gangotri excursion – return Uttarkashi
Depart early on the Gangotri road subject to its opening and weather. Visit the shrine and river-side sacred precinct in accordance with current official permissions and queue management. Breaks at Harsil or other accessible spots are optional and time dependent. Overnight Uttarkashi.
Day 5: Uttarkashi to Guptkashi / Sonprayag region
Leave early for the Mandakini valley. This is a full-day mountain drive with unpredictable slow sections, so sightseeing is intentionally limited. On arrival, reconfirm the Kedarnath trek and any operator-accepted assistance with the current administration. Overnight in the Guptkashi area.
Day 6: Gaurikund – Kedarnath pilgrimage
Transfer to the permitted drop-off point, then continue to Gaurikund via local traffic arrangements and begin the high-altitude trek. Uttarakhand Tourism describes the trek from Gaurikund as approximately 16 km; allow sufficient daylight, acclimatisation and rest. Reach Kedarnath only if weather and fitness permit; overnight in basic pre-booked pilgrim lodging.
Day 7: Kedarnath descent – Guptkashi
After darshan, descend the marked route to Gaurikund at a conservative pace. Return by authorised local transport to the Guptkashi hotel. Keep the evening free because the descent and road transfers can take most of the day. Overnight Guptkashi.
Day 8: Guptkashi to Badrinath
Set off towards Badrinath via the road that is currently cleared and approved. Expect a lengthy journey; viewing stops are possible only if daylight and route conditions allow. Check in at Badrinath and prepare for the next morning’s temple visit. Overnight Badrinath.
Day 9: Badrinath darshan – Rudraprayag / Srinagar
Attend darshan during operational temple hours and visit the nearby permitted precinct. Avoid overloading the day with optional Mana sightseeing if roads or queues are delayed. Drive downhill towards the night halt near Rudraprayag or Srinagar. Overnight at the transit hotel.
Day 10: Return towards Haridwar
Continue the drive through the Ganga valley with rest stops. If time permits, stop at a safe river-confluence viewpoint; all additions remain optional. Reach Haridwar and rest rather than planning a tight same-day intercity train or flight connection. Overnight Haridwar.
Day 11: Departure / onward arrangements
After breakfast check out and transfer to the agreed departure location. Keep a travel buffer for any landslide diversions or adverse conditions accumulated during the itinerary. Optional extra days can be inserted before departure by quotation. Tour ends.

FAQs about char dham yatra package
Is registration mandatory for Char Dham?
Yes. Uttarakhand’s official tourist-care portal states that pilgrims and vehicles must complete the applicable registration and checks. Register at the government portal; official tourist registration is free.
Is Kedarnath helicopter service included?
No. Helicopter seats are not included or guaranteed; use only government-approved booking channels and applicable official instructions.
Can seniors do Char Dham?
Some travellers may benefit from shorter road days and medical review, but strenuous high-altitude travel still requires individual assessment and consent. Accessibility cannot be assured at every stop.
Can I book only 9 nights?
A shorter route can be assessed, but it reduces weather buffer and increases daily driving. We recommend checking the itinerary against pilgrim fitness and actual darshan operations.
When is the yatra operational?
Shrine openings and road access are seasonal and notified annually. A 2027 booking can be finalised only after dates and operations are officially confirmed.
What is excluded from the quoted tour?
Unless specifically written in a signed quotation: helicopter, pony/palki, darshan/VIP fees, donations, medical assistance, personal meals and travel insurance are excluded.
